Flexible Resources
The Cal State Chancellor's Office and individual Cal State campuses share a variety of resources to support faculty, staff, students and campus leaders who want to get ready for flexible course teaching, learning or support. NOTE: If a resource refers to HyFlex, but you are not teaching in three modes, you can still use the resource to get strategies for the teaching modes you do use. As a bonus we include some resources from institutions beyond the Cal State system.
2022 Summer Institute – FELT
The CSU Office of the Chancellor invites you to register for the Summer 2022 Institute, Flexibility for Equitable Learning and Teaching.
WHAT is it?
Last year, we offered the Flexible Course Experience Institute to support faculty development and academic technology center staff and associates who needed to prepare or support faculty who opted to teach in flexible learning formats in AY2021-22. Many faculty participated as well. This year, we are offering another institute–Flexibility for Equitable Learning and Teaching–that will adopt an equity-centered focus to build upon what we all have learned over the past year.
WHY participate?
In the last two years course modalities have proliferated across the system. Our collective goal is to maximize students’ ability to stay enrolled and engage meaningfully. No matter how many course modalities you use, there are ways to increase flexibility and learning equity for your courses.
WHO may participate?
Any Cal State faculty, staff or campus leader who wants or needs to incorporate more equity and/or flexibility into their courses in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023.
WHEN is it?
The Institute will have synchronous sessions on June 14, 16, 21 & 23, 10:00-11:30 am Pacific. Asynchronous participants are welcome – all sessions will be recorded and we will provide the same or equivalent pathways to complete all activities.
Please contact Leslie Kennedy (lkennedy@calstate.edu) or Kevin Kelly (kkelly.sfsu@gmail.com) with any questions.
We look forward to having you join us, in real time or on your own time.
